Current or former MSU student who has not yet met the AA or AS degree requirements

If you are or have been enrolled at MSU and you have not yet met the requirements for an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree, but are interested in attaining it, please follow these steps:

  1. Submit an Intent to Register with the MSU Registrar's Office
  2. Change your major to the Associate's degree
  3. Contact Gallatin College for academic advising to enroll

Current or former MSU student from Fall 2012 or later who has completed the AA or AS degree requirements

If you are a former MSU student who has been enrolled in any semester since Fall 2012 and who has completed all current requirements for the AA or AS degree, including earning at least 15 credits at MSU, then you may follow these steps to be awarded this degree:

  1. Submit an Intent to Register form to the Office of the Registrar
  2. Contact Gallatin College to complete all necessary paperwork including:
    1. Declaration of AA or AS degree for major
    2. In Absentia Registration (No associated tuition, but there is a $30 fee)
    3. Graduation Application
  3. File paperwork with the Registrar
  4. Pay the graduation fee required of all graduating students

Current or former MSU student enrolled prior to Fall 2012 who has completed the AA or AS degree requirements

If you are a former MSU student who has not been enrolled since prior to Fall 2012, but you have completed all current requirements for the AA or AS degree, you will need to re-enroll for at least one course in order to be awarded an AA or AS degree. You should follow these steps:

  1. Submit an Intent to Register form to the Office of the Registrar
  2. Contact Gallatin College to complete required paperwork including:
    1. Registration for at least one course through Gallatin College (could be an on-line course)
    2. Declaration of AA or AS degree for major
    3. Graduation Application
  3. File paperwork with the Registrar
  4. Pay the graduation fee required of all graduating students
